Getting Started 5 questions
What is ExamVault?
ExamVault is an AI-proctored certification exam platform built for organizations, training institutes, and certification bodies. It provides a secure, browser-based environment where candidates take proctored exams with webcam monitoring, anti-cheat technology, and instant result delivery. Organizations use ExamVault to create, manage, and deliver professional certification exams at scale. The platform handles everything from exam creation and token distribution to AI proctoring, automated grading, and tamper-proof certificate issuance.
How do I create an account?
Visit certexpert.org and click the Sign Up button. You can register using your email address or sign in directly with your Google account for a faster setup. Once registered, you will have access to your personal dashboard where you can browse available certification exams, view your exam history, check results, and download certificates. No payment information is required to create an account.
Do I need to pay to take an exam?
ExamVault operates on a B2B token-based model, which means students do not pay directly on the platform. Instead, your organization, training institute, or certification body purchases exam tokens in bulk and distributes them to candidates. You will receive your exam token from your organization before booking your exam. Simply enter the token during the booking process and your exam slot will be confirmed at no additional cost to you.
What devices can I use?
You can browse exams, view results, check your leaderboard ranking, and manage your profile on any device including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. However, to take a proctored exam session, you need a desktop or laptop computer equipped with a working webcam and microphone. Tablets and mobile phones are not supported for live exam sessions because the AI proctoring system requires a stable webcam feed and fullscreen browser mode.
What browser do I need?
ExamVault works best on the latest versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari. We strongly recommend Google Chrome for the most reliable proctoring experience, as it offers the best support for webcam access and fullscreen APIs. Before your exam, make sure your browser allows camera and microphone permissions for certexpert.org, disable any pop-up blockers, and close unnecessary browser extensions that might interfere with the exam environment.
Exams & Booking 5 questions
How do I book an exam?
Log in to your ExamVault account and browse the available certification exams on the homepage. Select the exam you want to take, review the exam details including duration, number of questions, and passing score, then choose your preferred date and time slot. During the booking process, you will be asked to enter your exam token. Once the token is validated, your booking is confirmed instantly and you will receive a confirmation email with all the relevant details including the exam date, time, and preparation tips.
What is an exam token?
An exam token is a unique alphanumeric code that grants you access to a specific certification exam on ExamVault. Tokens are purchased in bulk by organizations and distributed to their candidates through email, internal learning management systems, or other communication channels. Each token is single-use and tied to one exam attempt. When you enter a valid token during the booking process, it is consumed and your exam slot is confirmed. If your token is invalid or has already been used, the system will notify you and you should contact your organization for a replacement.
Can I reschedule my exam?
Rescheduling policies depend on the settings configured by your organization. In most cases, you can reschedule your exam before the scheduled start time by visiting your dashboard and selecting a new time slot for the same exam. Some organizations may restrict rescheduling within a certain window before the exam. If you are unable to reschedule through the platform, contact your organization or reach out to our support team at certexpert.org/contact for assistance.
How long are the exams?
Exam duration varies depending on the certification and the number of questions. Most exams on ExamVault range from 30 minutes to 3 hours. The exact time limit is displayed prominently on the exam details page before you book, so you can plan accordingly. During the exam, a countdown timer is visible at all times so you can manage your time effectively. When time runs out, your exam is automatically submitted with whatever answers you have provided up to that point.
What happens if I lose internet during an exam?
If you experience a brief internet disruption during your exam, ExamVault will attempt to reconnect automatically in the background. Your answers are saved periodically to the server, so you will not lose your progress during short outages. If the disconnection lasts longer, the exam session may be paused to protect your attempt. In such cases, contact your organization or our support team to discuss resuming your exam or rescheduling. We recommend using a stable, wired internet connection whenever possible to avoid disruptions.
Proctoring 5 questions
How does AI proctoring work?
ExamVault uses AI-powered proctoring that runs entirely within your browser — no additional software installation is required. When you start a proctored exam, your webcam is activated and the AI system begins monitoring the session in real time. The system performs face detection to verify your presence throughout the exam, alerts if multiple faces are detected in the camera frame, identifies if you leave the camera view, and captures periodic snapshots for review. All browser-level activities such as tab switching, fullscreen exits, and keyboard shortcuts are also monitored. Proctoring data is stored securely and made available to your organization for post-exam review.
What does the webcam monitor?
During your exam, the webcam monitors several key aspects to ensure exam integrity. These include: continuous face presence to confirm you are at your desk, detection of multiple people in the camera frame, identification of candidate absence when your face is not visible, and capture of suspicious movements or unusual activity. Periodic snapshots are taken and stored securely for your organization to review if needed. The webcam monitoring works alongside browser-level checks including tab-switch detection, fullscreen enforcement, copy-paste prevention, and developer tools blocking.
Can I use a second monitor?
No. Using a second monitor, external display, or screen-sharing application during a proctored exam is not permitted and may trigger a violation flag. The exam must be taken in fullscreen mode on a single display. If the system detects that you have exited fullscreen — which can happen when switching to another monitor — it will be logged as a violation. Repeated fullscreen exits or tab switches may result in automatic exam termination. We recommend disconnecting any additional monitors before starting your exam to avoid accidental violations.
What counts as a violation?
The ExamVault proctoring system tracks the following activities as violations: exiting fullscreen mode, switching to another browser tab or window, multiple faces detected in the webcam feed, candidate face not detected (absence from camera view), attempting to copy or paste content, right-clicking anywhere on the exam page, and attempting to open browser developer tools. Each violation is logged with a precise timestamp and snapshot, and the data is available to your organization for review. Most exams have a configurable violation threshold — exceeding it can lead to automatic termination of your exam session.
What if my webcam isn't working?
A working webcam is mandatory for all proctored exams on ExamVault. Before the exam begins, the platform runs an automated camera check to verify that your webcam is detected and functioning. If your webcam is not detected or if browser permissions for camera access are denied, you will not be able to start the exam. To troubleshoot: make sure your browser has camera permissions enabled for certexpert.org, close any other applications that might be using the webcam (such as video call software), try unplugging and reconnecting an external webcam, and restart your browser. If problems persist, contact our support team well before your scheduled exam time so we can help resolve the issue.
Certificates 4 questions
How do I get my certificate?
If you pass the exam and meet the minimum passing score set by your organization, your digital certificate is generated automatically by ExamVault. You can view and download it directly from your dashboard under the Certificates section. Additionally, a certificate notification email is sent to your registered email address containing a link to view your certificate online. The certificate includes your name, exam title, date of completion, a unique certificate ID, and a QR code for instant verification.
How can employers verify my certificate?
Every certificate issued by ExamVault comes with a unique certificate ID. Employers, recruiters, and institutions can verify the authenticity of any certificate by visiting certexpert.org/verify and entering the certificate ID. The public verification page displays the candidate's name, exam title, date of completion, and issuing organization — no login or account is required. This makes it easy for anyone to confirm whether a certification is genuine, adding trust and credibility to your professional credentials.
Do certificates expire?
Certificate validity and expiration policies are determined by the issuing organization, not by ExamVault itself. Some certifications are valid indefinitely once earned, while others may require periodic renewal — for example, every one, two, or three years. The certificate details page and the verification portal will indicate the validity period if one has been set. Check with your organization or review the exam details page to understand the specific renewal requirements for your certification.
Can I download my certificate?
Yes. Once your certificate has been issued, you can download it as a high-quality PDF document from your ExamVault dashboard. The downloadable certificate includes your full name, the exam title, date of completion, your unique certificate ID, and a scannable QR code that links directly to the online verification page. You are free to print the certificate for display, attach it to job applications, share it on LinkedIn, or send it to employers as proof of your professional certification.
For Organizations 4 questions
How do organizations use ExamVault?
Organizations, training institutes, and certification bodies use ExamVault as their end-to-end exam delivery platform. Through the admin panel, organizations can create custom certification exams with their own question banks, generate and distribute exam tokens to candidates, monitor live exam sessions with AI proctoring, review detailed proctoring reports including violation logs and snapshots, view analytics and performance data, and issue branded digital certificates that are publicly verifiable. ExamVault handles the entire exam lifecycle — from question creation to certificate delivery — so organizations can focus on their curriculum and credentialing standards.
Can we create custom exams?
Absolutely. Organizations have full control over exam creation through the ExamVault admin panel. You can add multiple question types including multiple-choice and multi-select questions, organize questions into categories and topics, set custom time limits for each exam, configure minimum passing scores, enable question randomization to prevent cheating, add detailed exam instructions and terms, and customize the number of questions drawn from your question bank. For large-scale exam creation, the platform supports bulk question import so you can set up comprehensive question banks efficiently.
How do we assign exam tokens?
Organizations can generate exam tokens in bulk through the admin panel. Each token is tied to a specific exam and represents a single exam attempt. Once generated, tokens can be distributed to candidates through any channel you prefer — email, your internal learning management system (LMS), a student portal, or even printed handouts. When a candidate enters a valid token during the booking process on ExamVault, the token is consumed, their exam slot is confirmed, and they receive a booking confirmation email. The admin panel provides a complete view of all generated tokens, their usage status, and which candidates have redeemed them.
Do you offer API integration?
Yes. ExamVault provides a comprehensive REST API and real-time webhook system designed for partner organizations that want to integrate exam delivery into their existing platforms. The Partner API supports exam management (create, update, list exams), student enrollment and management, bulk token generation and tracking, result retrieval with detailed score breakdowns, and certificate verification. Real-time webhooks deliver instant event notifications for key milestones such as exam completions, result publications, and certificate issuance. To discuss API integration for your organization, visit certexpert.org/contact or reach out to our partnerships team.
